Time Commitment

One of the most important things to consider before starting any program is time commitment, and how the online program will actually work. Narrator: For our program, we offer a 35-46 credit hour bridge program for both AVN to MSN and BSN to MSN degrees. We are on a semester system, meaning that we do offer three sixteen-week semesters in a given year. That breaks down to two courses per semester, one at a time. Each course is eight weeks in length. As far as time commitment, expect to put in about 15-20 hours per week. For our format, we do offer asynchronous learning, meaning that you can log in at times that are convenient for you. We do have established due dates and deadlines, so you are expected to keep up with the due dates and deadlines of your assignments on a regular basis, however the classes are fully accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with no synchronous components, meaning there are no synchronized lectures or synchronized class discussions. You will need to, on a regular basis, post to discussion boards, respond to your peer postings. That’s your class participation for the week. As far as other items you’re assessed on, there are your quizzes, your exams, your papers, and classroom assignments.
